Are both dates included?
The result is the span between the two dates. The total-days figure counts the number of days from the start date to the end date.
How is the years/months/days breakdown computed?
It counts whole years, then whole remaining months, then leftover days — accounting for the differing lengths of each month.
Does the order of dates matter?
No — if the end date is earlier than the start date, the difference is reported as the same magnitude.
